In addition, he was voted 2nd place in the "Best of Vancouver" by the Georgia Straight newspaper under the category of Photographer and has won multiple awards for his photography including the Panasonic Digital Arts Competition. Mark was also nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Business of the Year at the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce President's Dinner and Excellence Awards.
An Instructor at BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) for both the New Media Design program and the Graphic Design program. Mark teaches a course called Digital Darkroom which focuses on the fundamentals of photography and image retouching.
When he is not shooting, Mark volunteers his time with organizations as a way of giving back to the community that has supported him over the years. Mark donates his time every year to support the CKNW Orphans Fund. In 2013, he organized a team of 34 volunteer photographers to cover over 30 sporting events at the BC Senior Games. Mark is an active participant in the fight against cancer and contributes annually in the the CIBC Run for the Cure. Mark also continues to donate numerous canvas artworks to the Vancouver General Hospital and other fundraising organizations.
