Mark Whitehead is a Professional Photographer, Retoucher and Owner of Get the Shot Studios in Vancouver, Canada. A passionate, driven individual who provides creative solutions for clients.
Well trained in both photography, image retouching and with over 10 years of professional experience as a photographer; Mark is capable of producing high quality deliverables for his clients. Aspiring to work amongst the best in the industry, Mark is a focused young entrepreneur.
In addition, he was voted 2nd place in the "Best of Vancouver" by the Georgia Straight newspaper under the category of Photographer and has won multiple awards for his photography including the Panasonic Digital Arts Competition. Mark was also nominated for Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Small Business of the Year at the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce President's Dinner and Excellence Awards.
An Instructor at BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) for both the New Media Design program and the Graphic Design program. Mark has written and teaches 2 courses called Digital Photography and Digital Darkroom which focuses on the fundamentals of photography and image retouching.
When he is not shooting, Mark volunteers his time with organizations as a way of giving back to the community that has supported him. For a number of years, Mark has donated his time to support the CKNW Orphans Fund. In 2013, he organized a team of 34 volunteer photographers to cover over 30 sporting events at the BC Senior Games. Mark is an active participant in the fight against cancer and contributes annually in the the CIBC Run for the Cure. Mark also continues to donate his canvas artworks to the Vancouver General Hospital and other fundraising organizations.
